Summer squash are in the garden now. Here’s the thing about squash. Sometimes they are hard to find. The squash and the blossom are both yellow and they can be tucked in under the leaves. Other times though, the squash are just all over the place, like they want to be found. The only thing I know for sure is that once you find some, it makes you want to keep looking.
“Where have you seen God today?” I have a friend who likes to ask that question. Sometimes I don’t have an answer. Sometimes it’s like He is hiding in the leaves. But that wasn’t last week.
Last Saturday a home group from Journey Church in Raleigh came to the Garden. They were all in their twenties and at the busy part of life. Also two college juniors from Rolesville who were home for summer, came. Together they harvested 420 pounds of potatoes, carrots, and squash that went to Tri-Area Ministry for local families in need.
It was a lot of young adults, They were fun to be with. They all were all an inspiration and a source of encouragement as they worked. Its like God was all over the place that day.
It was enough to make a person want to keep looking.
